Farewell Illinois!

Good bye Midwest! The Khoury Family is officially in Connecticut now. We arrived here on Saturday night. The flights went well. Miles was his usual sweet self on the first flight and entertained the people behind us. During the 2nd flight, he was a bit more fidgety because it was closer to his bedtime. He slept towards the end of the flight, which was good.

We had a great time during our Naperville Vacation. =) It was so nice to hang out with my sister-in-laws. We spent most of our time at my sister-in-law's, Katie's, house. She made us some delicious breakfasts..it felt like I was staying at a bed & breakfast =) Miles enjoyed being able to play with his cousins this week. I'm sure he already misses them now, as we play around in our hotel room just us two. I also got to see downtown Naperville during the week, which is a very cute area! We got to play at a park, walk around downtown, and have dinner there one night.

Our last night in Naperville, we headed over to my other sister-in-law's, Dina's, house. Tim also arrived in Chicago, so he can travel with us back to Connecticut the next day. Miles got to play with his cousins, Mena and Sophia, on Friday and Saturday. Sophia and Miles are so close in age.. and sometimes they sound a lot alike! I'm really glad Miles got to spend some time with all of his Khoury cousins. He got to play with Abbie last weekend for a little bit. I hope he can see his cousins again soon! (Visit us everyone!) =)

We went out to dinner one night and had some frozen yogurt at Red Mango. The kids were being cute and goofy - posing around for pictures. =)

Our last day in Illinois was spent with Kareem, Dina, and the kids. Miles was full of kisses for his Aunt Dina!

Playing in Naperville

The weather in Illinois has been amazing. It's working out perfectly for our last week here. Miles has been playing with his cousins so much. He loves it. I'm pretty sure his cousin Grace is his hero. haha He laughs and smiles at anything she does! He loves playing with Grace and Gabe. And they are such sweethearts to him. (Melts me!) I'm sure I'll post more pictures of Miles and his cousins throughout the week but I wanted to share some of Miles & Grace playing yesterday at my sister-in-law's house. Katie made a little tunnel/fort for the kids, and they crawled through it. Miles ended up pulling the sheet down, so the kids played on the pillows instead. Miles loved every bit of it.

Good Bye Bloomington!

Yup, it's official. We have left Bloomington, Illinois. We left on Thursday and headed to Naperville to hang out with family and to celebrate our niece's 1st birthday. It's been a memorable time in Bloomington. It's our first place as a married couple and our family started there. My baby is a Bloomington Baby.. so it will always hold a special place in my heart and memories. We are heading to the East Coast! Tim has already left and started his first day of work today! Miles & I stayed behind for a week, so we can hang out more with family.

Before leaving, Miles got to finish off KinderMusik. It was nice because Tim got to attend with us. Tim got to play and dance around with him, and pull him around on a beach towel. Hehe, the video for that is pretty precious. It was too bad that Miles' teacher was out sick on his last day - we didn't get to take a picture with her. We have also hung out with my brothers lately too. I'm really glad they got to spend more time with Miles before moved. Miles really enjoyed hanging out with them and also hanging out with the Benchmark Logic crew! =) We hung out with a lot of people before leaving. It's really bittersweet to leave Bloomington. We have made some great friends out there and we will never forget them. But we are very excited for next adventure! Miles will spend his 1st birthday in a new state!

Connecticut Trip

We just got back from a trip to Connecticut. We've been so busy lately and we have some big news. We are moving there! And this past weekend, we took a trip out there to try to find a home =) We looked at many places but haven't completely decided on anything yet. It was a great trip though. It was nice to see our new state. We are really excited for this new chapter. Crazy to think that Miles will spend his first birthday in a whole new state! Who would have thought huh?? =) Life works in interesting ways.

I'm pretty sure Miles loves airports. Lots of people to "talk" to and so many things to look at. Miles was a great baby throughout the home-hunting experience. He was such a happy baby and we really enjoyed the whole experience together.

Here is a cute video I took of Miles with my phone. We were hanging out in the car, waiting for Papa. The video is a bit long, but definitely full of many tricks! =) hehe His laugh is so contagious. My little baby is growing up and learning so much. I can't believe he will be 11 months this week!

Miles Update: 10 Months

I feel like Miles is growing and learning so much lately! It amazes me each time I realize he has learned how to roll a ball or point to something I ask about. But this also makes me think, am I keeping track of all of this? Tim will come home and be surprised to see him crawling so well and I'll respond "Oh yeah, he's been doing that." It's so easy to lose track of when he did what.

So, a little bit of a Miles update. He started another semester of KinderMusik earlier this month - and he's loving it. He's not the baby of the class anymore! He has the same teacher though, and she loves him. =) During one of the classes, we rolled balls all around. So, at home, I decided to teach Miles to roll the ball. After a few days of rolling the ball and asking him to, he did it when Tim's parents were in town. I was so excited to see it happen=)

Miles has been crawling a lot more now. He also pulls himself up against the couch or crib. He can cruise along side the crib or couch, the speed is dependent on if there is a phone to walk to!

Miles has been saying Mama for awhile, but more and more now, he is saying Papa. He has pointed at pictures of me and Tim and said out loud "Papa!" And every time I show him my phone, which has a picture of us 3 on it, he says "Papa" in a quiet way. It's so sweet sounding. Whenever Tim comes home, we usually look out the window on our front door, and Miles gets VERY excited when he sees Tim. This makes Tim a very happy Papa =)

I've said this before, Miles is a very social baby. He really does enjoy big groups of people. I've never really seen him overwhelmed by too many people in one room. He loves to look at people and then get shy when they notice him. He's a flirt! ;) He likes to be part of the conversation and to laugh when people are laughing. It's really cute to see.

Pointing.. he has definitely started pointing more in the past couple of days. He points to the clock and to the map in our house. If you ask him where either one of those things are, he can easily point to them! He also points to the coconuts hanging on our wall and to Tim's guitar. He likes to touch the guitar and hear the sound. All of this definitely amazes and excites me. It's so neat to see him learn so much. He has a big word/picture book, First 100 Words, and he can point to the clock and ball in it when asked. (!!) I am a proud mama! =)

As the Big 1 comes closer and closer, I'm sure Miles will learn so much more and we are so excited to teach him and to watch him grow. He is really a big boy now.. not so much a baby anymore. Though, he'll always be my baby ;) I just can't believe how fast time is going!

Khoury Party

It has been very busy the past few weeks. Tim has been traveling a lot lately, which also means busy times for me and Miles. This past weekend, we had a lot of family visit us. Tim's parents came for a couple of days and two of his brothers & families came over on Saturday. It was a full house! It was nice that the kids got to play with each other. Miles loved seeing everyone. He really is such a social baby. He loved laughing with everyone, especially with Grace. It was so cute to watch. My mother-in-law brought some Arabic food which is always good. She even made some bread for us. Our fridge is stocked with lots of food now!

After a full weekend, Miles ended up getting sick on Sunday. So now, we are taking care of our little baby. With a stuffy and runny nose plus a fever, he is still a fairly happy baby. What a sweetheart.

Sweet Kisses

A few days ago, Miles started to make this super cute kissey-type face. It was so cute to watch him do it and since we loved it so much, he does it all the time now! =) This kid is just so squishable!! =) We love him!!!

Our Little Bookworm

Miles really really loves reading. And the book shown in the picture is his favorite. Tonight, we were all just hanging out in the living room. I cleared out the toys around Tim and gave him Miles' favorite book. Miles was playing with his toys a couple of feet away from Tim.. I told Tim to call Miles and ask him if he wants to read a book. Miles looked up at him and looked at the book.. then he dropped his toys and started to crawl towards Tim!! This was the farthest I've seen Miles crawl! I did the same thing with Miles earlier in the day, but he wasn't too far away from me. It was so cute to see him crawl, especially for a book! My heart just melts for moments like that.

Sweet Kisses

My little baby is such a sweetheart!
(Also, Miles claps when I ask him to or whenever I sound happy happy. It's so adorable.) =)
