Welcome Maya & Severa!

Late night on Saturday, October 5th.. my water broke at home! This didn't happen with my first pregnancy so I was pretty surprised (and honestly, scared too). Tim & I headed to the hospital at almost midnight and realized that we will meet our baby girls soon!

Maya & Severa were born very early on Sunday, October 6th via C-Section. Baby A was still breech and Baby B was still transverse. I was actually also dilated so I experienced some contractions as well as having a CS. I had a scheduled CS for the 10th but I guess my girls wouldn't let someone else dictate their entrance to the world! =) The C-Section went really smoothly. I was pretty scared walking into the OR to get my spinal (Tim couldn't be with me at that time, joined me later on during the birth) but I had a great nurse that really helped comfort me through it before Tim was allowed inside. The OR is such a cold and bright place - I felt like I was in a spaceship. Anyway, I'm glad it went by quickly. Hearing Baby A's (Maya) first cry made everything better. When I first saw my girls, I was just so in awe. I still can't believe I have twin girls to this day. =) Such a surreal feeling. The girls are doing great at home. Their big brother, Miles, is giving them a lot of love and kisses. They like to sleep a lot during the days and are more active aka awake at night. It's so neat to see them each day and just see their similarities and differences! They are definitely fraternal twins - they have their own looks for sure! I'm excited to see what their personalities will be like as they get older and older. Tim and I are so thankful that everything turned out great with them and that they were born healthy. We had to stay one extra night at the hospital since the doctors wanted to monitor their weights a bit more, but other than that, it was all normal. It's definitely nicer to be home now than being in the hospital though!

I can't believe they are 2 weeks old today! ♥♥

Home Stretch of this Pregnancy

This is it! The last weeks of my pregnancy. Crazy and amazing at the same time. I am definitely way more tired and achy now and I honestly waddle like crazy. =) My tummy is just huge. It's so tight. The babies still move around a lot which makes the shape of my tummy so funny looking. I'm excited that it's almost over but I'm also still unsure and overwhelmed at the reality of things... but I know it'll all work itself out. God works in amazing ways.

It's officially begun.. people are coming here to visit and help me. I am so very very grateful for my family helping me out at this time. I've been having appointments every week and it's definitely helpful when someone can just watch Miles while I go to my appointments. It's also so nice and refreshing to be able to just go upstairs and relax and/or nap while someone watches Miles. It's also been great to hang out with people during the day to keep my sanity. Sometimes, my patience with a hyper 2 year old runs a bit low these days and having people around definitely helps. My sister came last week and it was so nice to hang out with her. It was neat to have her actually see me very pregnant too. Miles had a great time with her. They called each other Honey. hehe =) I'm glad they had that time together.
Our next visitors are my sister-in-law, Mary, and niece, Abbie. They arrived on Saturday night. Miles was sooo happy to see Abagail. It's been a lot of fun so far with them. Miles and Abbie are hilarious together. They definitely act like siblings - loving and sweet one minute, and picking on each other the next. Gotta love family. We got to go to KinderMusik all together this morning, which was really nice. Miles liked being able to bring Abbie to school with him. I've also been getting more naps in each day too, which have been SUPER NICE.  I'll definitely post more about their visit - many things to write about these two little kiddos!
