Khoury Catch-Up

I can honestly say that having three kids is a very busy task! Time has flown by so quickly yet, the days can feel so long! I've never been so tired and frustrated in my life and yet, seeing my girls smile or laughing at Miles' random questions and comments are ridiculously priceless.

I never posted much about my parents' visit or Thanksgiving. Our time with my parents feels like a long time ago already. Miles had a great time with my parents. He misses them and still talks about them almost daily. He always says he wants to go to the Philippines. =) One day, Miles. One day. Thanksgiving was nice. We had our own little dinner on Wednesday night and on Thursday, we brought over some food to our friends' house and had a big dinner with everyone there. Plenty of adults and kids! It was a good time.

A little update on the girls - Maya & Severa are growing nicely. We went to their 2 month check up today. They are weighing in at around 11lbs 1 oz for Maya and 10 lbs 15 oz for Severa. It's so crazy to think they were about half that size when they were born. They are both giving me smiles more and more now, which melts me. Maya has her first cold though. I guess it comes with the territory of having an older brother that kisses her a lot =P (Miles is sicky right now too). Other than that, the girls have been doing really well.

A little update on Miles - He's so much older in my eyes now. I look at pictures from earlier this year and it seems like he was more baby at that time ... and now, he's such a KID! He talks so well now - full of questions and comments that make so much sense. His way of making similes impresses me every time. He loves singing (and he's pretty good at it) and dancing. He loves kiddie songs and popular songs too, mainly Bruno Mars songs. With an active personality, it can be... interesting... when he doesn't get his way though =P Ugh. I guess that also comes with the whole terrible twos, I guess. =P haha He's excited for Christmas and loves the snow, Christmas tree, lights, and, decorations. He's always been very interested in music but right now, he definitely loves the drums. We're thinking of getting drums for him for Christmas.

Tim & I have been going through our own routines. He's been busy at work as usual. And we're usually very busy with the kids once he gets home. The bed time process for all 3 is still fairly long. I'm looking forward to when winter is over and the day light lasts longer. hah That'll be awhile from now. haha Siiigh. Oh well. At least, Christmas is around the corner. We'll hopefully visit Santa soon.

Ok, enjoy some random photos =)

Here is one of me & Inay from 1983 (or 1984) with me & Severa. I see myself in Severa more and more.

Has it really been 2 months already??
Miles has been taking swimming lessons. He loves it. His last lesson is tomorrow. I like that he has his own activity with his Papa, instead of always being with me and the babies.

Here's Miles showing my parents his Kumon book. It's a tracing book and he's been doing really good with it. We call it his "schoolbook" =) My little student!

Go Blue! We got all decked out for the exciting Michigan/OSU game.

Miles loves drumming!

Halloween 2013

This year, I had high hopes of getting the girls in costumes for their first Halloween but....I ended up not dressing them up. I really wanted to have them as little pieces of sushi =) but I just never got a chance to go out to the craft store and get the supplies. I feel like it would have been pretty easy. Oh well, I think they will forgive me.

Miles, on the other hand, dressed up this year as Super Why! He loved it. I googled the costume one day and the moment he saw it, he was so so excited for it - so I had to buy it =) He was really looking forward to Halloween this year and being able to say Trick or Treat! We went to an outdoor mall for their trick or treating event. There were a lot of kids and Miles was seriously on Cloud 9. Tim's friend/coworker and his family were there too with their little boy, and Miles had a lot of fun walking around with him. A lot of kids were pretty happy with Miles' costume.. eventually, when kids said Super Why!, Miles would smile and wave to them. He took his persona seriously. haha =) It was fun to watch him have a great time.

Tim had plans to take him to a couple of houses nearby but it started to drizzle a little bit and we decided he's had a great time already..so let's just eat Chipotle ; ) So, we went there for dinner with our friends we saw at the Trick or Treating event.

Welcome Maya & Severa!

Late night on Saturday, October 5th.. my water broke at home! This didn't happen with my first pregnancy so I was pretty surprised (and honestly, scared too). Tim & I headed to the hospital at almost midnight and realized that we will meet our baby girls soon!

Maya & Severa were born very early on Sunday, October 6th via C-Section. Baby A was still breech and Baby B was still transverse. I was actually also dilated so I experienced some contractions as well as having a CS. I had a scheduled CS for the 10th but I guess my girls wouldn't let someone else dictate their entrance to the world! =) The C-Section went really smoothly. I was pretty scared walking into the OR to get my spinal (Tim couldn't be with me at that time, joined me later on during the birth) but I had a great nurse that really helped comfort me through it before Tim was allowed inside. The OR is such a cold and bright place - I felt like I was in a spaceship. Anyway, I'm glad it went by quickly. Hearing Baby A's (Maya) first cry made everything better. When I first saw my girls, I was just so in awe. I still can't believe I have twin girls to this day. =) Such a surreal feeling. The girls are doing great at home. Their big brother, Miles, is giving them a lot of love and kisses. They like to sleep a lot during the days and are more active aka awake at night. It's so neat to see them each day and just see their similarities and differences! They are definitely fraternal twins - they have their own looks for sure! I'm excited to see what their personalities will be like as they get older and older. Tim and I are so thankful that everything turned out great with them and that they were born healthy. We had to stay one extra night at the hospital since the doctors wanted to monitor their weights a bit more, but other than that, it was all normal. It's definitely nicer to be home now than being in the hospital though!

I can't believe they are 2 weeks old today! ♥♥

Home Stretch of this Pregnancy

This is it! The last weeks of my pregnancy. Crazy and amazing at the same time. I am definitely way more tired and achy now and I honestly waddle like crazy. =) My tummy is just huge. It's so tight. The babies still move around a lot which makes the shape of my tummy so funny looking. I'm excited that it's almost over but I'm also still unsure and overwhelmed at the reality of things... but I know it'll all work itself out. God works in amazing ways.

It's officially begun.. people are coming here to visit and help me. I am so very very grateful for my family helping me out at this time. I've been having appointments every week and it's definitely helpful when someone can just watch Miles while I go to my appointments. It's also so nice and refreshing to be able to just go upstairs and relax and/or nap while someone watches Miles. It's also been great to hang out with people during the day to keep my sanity. Sometimes, my patience with a hyper 2 year old runs a bit low these days and having people around definitely helps. My sister came last week and it was so nice to hang out with her. It was neat to have her actually see me very pregnant too. Miles had a great time with her. They called each other Honey. hehe =) I'm glad they had that time together.
Our next visitors are my sister-in-law, Mary, and niece, Abbie. They arrived on Saturday night. Miles was sooo happy to see Abagail. It's been a lot of fun so far with them. Miles and Abbie are hilarious together. They definitely act like siblings - loving and sweet one minute, and picking on each other the next. Gotta love family. We got to go to KinderMusik all together this morning, which was really nice. Miles liked being able to bring Abbie to school with him. I've also been getting more naps in each day too, which have been SUPER NICE.  I'll definitely post more about their visit - many things to write about these two little kiddos!

Random Morning Post

I got up early this morning to use the bathroom and couldn't go back to sleep since. Siigh Pregnancy. Ended up getting hungry, so I went downstairs to eat a bagel. It ended up being a nice relaxing decision. It got me to think about life in general lately. I probably won't have these kinds of mornings for awhile when the babies arrive, where I can just relax and drink hot tea... so I'll just try to relish as much of it as I can. I'm not really a morning person, so waking up early for no reason is different for me.

I had an ultrasound yesterday (I've had so many!) and got to see Baby A's face again. (The 3D image was so clear!!) And again, we couldn't see Baby B. =P She's facing my back or to the side every time we try. I got to see both of them move around a lot though and I saw Baby A stick her tongue out a couple of times. =) Would have been nice if I could have gotten a nice picture of Baby B to add in to my collage. hehe But I'm sure I'll take plenty of pictures of both of them when they are out & about in the world. I can't believe I'm going to be a mama of 3 kids!

My 30th Birthday!

Yesterday was my birthday, the big 3-0. If someone would have told me that I'd be celebrating my 30th birthday with a husband, a 2 year old, and twin girls in my belly - I would be like "yeahh right" But life is awesome like that and will surprise you. I spent my actual birthday relaxing at home with Miles, reading sweet comments and birthday greetings on Facebook, and getting phone calls or text messages from friends and family. And I also got flowers and gifts in the mail! It was perfect and touching.

When Tim got home, we went out for dinner. He didn't tell me where we were going and just drove. We ate at Apricot's Restaurant for the first time. We've driven by this restaurant before, especially when we first move to Connecticut but it always felt like a place that we should dress up in. It's a nice restaurant - quaint and cute. The food was delicious. We ate upstairs which was pretty nice. There was a family in the next table that thought Miles was so well-behaved that they told their waitress that they will cover our desserts! It was so sweet and random. We ended up talking to them for a little bit and they were such a sweet family.

After dinner, we went home and tucked Miles into bed. Tim actually had more surprises for me. He gave me so many thoughtful presents that included a pair of awesome colored Nikes, Lean In book that I've been wanting to read, comfy sandals, and last but definitely not least, original and custom artwork that depicted our family. I was very touched and surprised by the last gift. It was perfect. The artist, Sheila Asbell Allen, is from Bloomington, Illinois and my first piece I got from her was Tim's 1st anniversary present to me years ago. Tim really outdid himself this year and it made me smile very much. =) I thought the weekend was my birthday surprise and which I was totally happy with. My actual birthday was very memorable and such a wonderful way to start my 30s. I'm very grateful.

Early Birthday Surprise!

I'm sitting at the kitchen table while Tim and our friend Eric watch the Michigan/Notre Dame game on DVR. Today, well, I guess it's yesterday now since it's past midnight, has been awesome. I woke up thinking the day was just going to be another day - with a little work party event at Tim's work and getting some errands/chores done in the house. Nothing major but that was fine.

Instead, the doorbell rang in the morning after Tim & I just woke up (we woke up late). I was thinking "Who is that?" Tim went down and answered it and came back up to tell me it was a girl I sold something to and she wanted to ask me something. I was like "What? I didn't get any messages.. who is here? What?" As I was walking the down the stairs, I look to the living room and there stood my friends Marilen, Melissa, and Eric!!! I was so so surprised! They drove from NYC to surprise me and even brought some Crumbs cupcakes! =) It was so nice to see them, I was genuinely touched. =)

Tim, Miles, and Eric ended up going to Tim's work party thing while the girls stayed behind to just chitchat and hang out. I loved it. I love my friends so much and they made me feel so special today.

Then Tim and the guys came back home with a surprise for me! Tim got me a BURGER BIRTHDAY CAKE WITH FRIES & A COKE! I was sooo surprised =) I have always wanted a burger cake since middle school. haha And honestly, it's the only gift I wanted for my 30th birthday. haha Random, I know.. but true! I was so giddy. They sang Happy Birthday to me and we took lots of pictures. The cakes were done soo nicely. Secret sauce and everything! The details were perfect. Tim also ordered some empanadas from a favorite place of ours at West hartford. Such a great surprise! We ended up enjoying the cake at night after dinner. It was delicious! We were all genuinely surprised that a cake that looked good actually tasted good too. What a wonderful surprise! High five Tim =)  I love you so much.

Labor Day Weekend

During the long weekend, we went to Boston one day for a little day trip. Tim and I wanted to just hang out and eat at our favorite restaurant there. The place is called Giacomo's and it's so good. When we went there last time, we got very lucky and didn't have to wait for a table. We realized after that this restaurant is so legit and that people line up for hours to get a table here. And Labor Day weekend, we weren't as lucky as the first time with the wait. We waited an hour outside for a table (the restaurant itself is pretty small). It's ok, it was pretty fun to wait outside. There were a lot of people walking around and the people by us in line were pretty cool. The dinner didn't disappoint too, so it was all good.

After dinner, we walked around a little bit. Miles even made a friend when were at a little park/fountain area. He even hugged the girl and snuck in a kiss! We were all pretty surprised and it was a very cute "aww" moment.

Tim took more photos of me for "belly bump" pictures so that was pretty nice. This belly of mine keeps on growing, so it'll be nice to look back one day to see these pictures. I got many comments walking around Boston regarding my belly. =) It's so big in real life. haha

Miles Plays Baseball & a 32 Week Belly Bump Photo Session

Last night, we hung out with our neighbors and had dinner at their place. They had some friends over as well, and we all hung out outside. Miles played T-Ball with the guys. He did great! We haven't used his T-Ball set in so long so Tim & I were surprised at how well he actually hits the ball. And he's never attempted to hit the ball from a regular pitch and he did great! I was genuinely shocked, impressed, and proud. =) I guess Baseball Mama is in my future. ; )

The other night, I had a little belly bump photo session done by Timmyk Photography, hehe. Tim did great taking some photos of me and I had fun editing them online. I figured it was about time to get some "for real" (not using a phone) pictures taken while pregnant. We had fun and we'll probably do another round of photo taking outside this coming weekend.

Here's a sweet shot of the big brother, Kuya Miles, using his sisters as a pillow =)

Friendly Visit

Our friends Carla and David visited us this week - they arrived Sunday and left out Tuesday. We had a great time with them. Miles loved playing with them and definitely asked where they were today. It was fun to just hang out, eat some good food, and just chill with great friends. Very refreshing. I'm really glad they included Connecticut in their East Coast Tour Vacation =)

The first night, we made them a very filling dinner, hehe. And the next dinner, we took them to our favorite pizza place in town - Frank Pepe's. They liked it too. We also took them to an orchard. Originally, I wanted to go there for their sunflower maze but the flowers have already bloomed and are starting to get dark and wilt. Soo... we decided to just pass on the maze and pick a few fruits instead. Miles is a big fan of picking fruits right now, so we definitely did it for him. We left the orchard with only a handful of fruits - which still made Miles very happy =)

My tummy is definitely getting bigger and tighter these days. It's nice to have visitors instead of driving anywhere now =P Getting more and more tired. These babies of mine are movers and it's such an odd feeling! They squirm around so much. =) I'm going to the OB every 2 weeks now!

Baby A Photo Op!

On Thursday, Miles & I headed over to the hospital for another ultrasound. I'm getting them every month now. Miles is so used to the process, haha. He was repeating what the ultrasound tech was saying.. "That's Baby A's head". He even called himself Dr. Khoury. hehe

Everything looked good for both of the babies. They are measuring nicely. They are big babies so far! =) Weighing in at 3 lbs 4 oz (Baby A) and 3 lbs 9 oz (Baby B) - the average for a singleton at 30 weeks is 3 lbs. Their heart rates are similar to one another and at a good rate, so that's always a good sign. I can't believe I'm 30 weeks pregnant now. Time to get the hospital bag ready ... and clean up the house.. and etc etc etc etc! =)

The ultrasound tech got a good picture of Baby A's face. We couldn't see Baby B too well, and at one point, she ended up turning towards my back/spine so we couldn't see at all =P Maybe next time. I'm getting so excited to see my little babies. I wonder what they both look like. Even with her hands in front of her face, this picture is still pretty clear. She looks like she has blonde/light hair right? heh

Farmers Markets, Blueberry Picking, and the Movies!

We packed in so many activities this weekend! Friday, after Tim got home from work - we did some errands by starting to get some baby stuff for home. We also tried out a new Indian restaurant that a friend recommended. At the restaurant, there was a family that came in with twin baby boys. They sat at the table next to us, and Miles kept watching the 2 babies. He cared about them and hushed himself since the babies were sleeping. =) It was cute.

Saturday, we started the day early and picked up something I bought from Craigslist. After that, we went to a Farmers Market at a nearby city. It was so hot and sunny but we had a good time nonetheless. The market was at a park, so we also walked to the playground and Miles got to play a little. There was also a baseball game going on, so we walked over and watched some of it. Miles was so into it. I love seeing him sit up straight and paying attention to everything in the game. Later on, we went home and started to do some cleaning and de-cluttering around the house. We want to get rid of stuff we don't need anymore so we can make space for all of the baby stuff we do need.

Sunday, we went to another farmers market. This farmers market is one of the most popular farmers market in Connecticut. I mainly wanted to go there to attend a Babywearers Group meeting. I want to learn and be more comfortable using a baby wrap. I used a Moby Wrap with Miles a handful of times but I don't think I ever truly got comfortable with it. Hopefully by seeing more women use it properly, I can get more confident with it. There was a Fife & Drum event going on at the market and that was fun to watch. We also enjoyed some food at the market for lunch.
After the market, we drove to a blueberry farm and picked our own blueberries. Miles had soo much fun picking blueberries. It was so cute to see him walk around with his bucket - picking and eating blueberries! I heard him giggle and say "yumm!" many times. It was so funny. He didn't want to leave.

Later on, we went home for a little bit and cleaned some more and ate dinner - using stuff we got from both of the farmers markets. We surprised Miles with a little treat and took him to the movie theater. He was so happy throughout the whole experience. He was laughing so hard - I'm pretty sure everyone could hear his laugh! He loved eating the popcorn. He had a smile on his face 99% of the time. It was so cute. We watched Monsters University. Miles was really into it whenever we would see any pictures or toys from it, so he was pretty familiar with the characters already. I was a little iffy about him actually getting scared of the movie, but he cracked up so much throughout. He also brought his "baby" with him to the movie. His baby (the blue penguin) is fairly new. He's had that penguin for awhile but recently, he has noted her as his baby and called her "Maya" =) He puts his baby to sleep and covers her with a blanket. He has 2 babies.. the other baby is the giraffe. He plays with the penguin more though. =) He's so cute and sweet about the 2 babies - we're very excited to see how he'll interact with his sisters in the future.

We had a very busy and fun-packed weekend. It was great spending time with Miles and Tim this weekend. I'm 28 weeks pregnant .. so we're trying to soak in some family of 3 time as much as we can before things get really busy with babies =)

Western Connecticut

This past weekend, we had no plans other than a hospital/maternity ward tour on Sunday - which was great. It was nice to just have a lazy morning on Saturday and get up whenever. We decided we would go to Hartford and check out the Jazz Festival going on, but during the drive, Miles fell asleep. Since Miles hardly naps, we like to keep him sleeping whenever he does doze off. So, we kept driving. Eventually, Tim asked if I wanted to head west. Surewhynot. So, we drove heading towards Kent Falls. We first saw and randomly stopped at Mohawk State Park and then we headed to Kent Falls State Park. We hung out there for a bit. Miles played soccer and we saw the falls. There were a lot of families at Kent Falls State Park bbq-ing and just hanging out. After that, we started to head back east. We saw and stopped at Arethusa Farm Dairy to get some ice cream/milkshake. It was such a preppy area. The ice cream and milk shake there were all tasty. We also bought some chocolate milk to bring home. Tim shared his ice cream cone with Miles because their scoops were pretty significant! Miles made a friend instantly inside, this little girl ended up telling me that "he's so cute" =) They ended up playing together inside the ice cream shop and also outside while we were all eating our treats. We got home fairly late and Miles was zonked out after our spur of the moment road trip.

On Sunday, we had a tour of the hospital/maternity ward that I will give birth at - St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. We dropped Miles off at a friend's house before going to the tour - she has 2 young boys, so Miles barely missed us and had a great time playing with his friends. The tour was really good - I was impressed by the hospital and their sense of family-centric values and also how they talked about breastfeeding & skin-to-skin time. It's nice to see that kind of information shared and encouraged. Also, I'm 27 weeks pregnant now.. into my 3rd trimester! I can't believe it's already my last trimester. I'm getting more excited and scared about it all. I'm definitely giddy to see the girls but I've been getting nervous about everything every now and then. Keep on praying and thinking positive...

Pregnancy Update - Babies at 25 Weeks

I'm 25.5 weeks pregnant now. I had an ultrasound yesterday to check up on the babies 'growth. With multiples, they monitor more frequently - I feel like I have some sort of appointment every week!

This pregnancy so far has been so different from the first time around in many ways. My pregnancy with Miles didn't really give me any nausea or much pain. This pregnancy definitely has! I had so much nausea in the beginning and definitely a lot of pain and discomfort with my hips and pelvis after the nausea wore off. I've been going to prenatal yoga, a chiropractor, and now a physical therapist to help with the hip & pelvic pain.. hence, I always have some kind of appointment on top of my OB and ultrasound appointments. Miles has been great and patient through them all - Mama is always prepared with distractions though!

Babies update - they are doing great. They are very active and I feel them all the time. Tim has felt them kick and squirm many times and so has Miles. Miles' reaction to feeling the babies move was so priceless - wide-eyed with his mouth open! hehe Tim and I have been so happy with Miles' reactions to the babies so far. He includes them in everything - like having a place setting for the babies while sitting around in his room eating the dinner "he made", drawing the babies, and including them in his scribbles of "Mama Papa Miles Babies!" (a long squiggly line) He loves to kiss my belly (2 times!) and say hi to the babies. Hopefully, Miles will stay loving towards his sisters when they arrive. I'm definitely excited to see how he'll be with them.

At my ultrasound yesterday, I found out that the babies are weighing in at around 1 lb 15 oz each! Their heart rates are great and similar to each other. They are growing so nicely. I may have little chunkers on my hands by October! ; ) I read on one of my pregnancy apps that a (single) baby at 25 weeks should be around 1.5 lbs right now. hah I pretty much have about 4 lbs of babies in my tummy right now at 25 weeks... and with Miles, he was born weighing in at 6 lbs 12 oz. I have lots of time left too... so we'll see how much bigger the girls (and I!!) get!

Michigan Vacation Recap

*a fair warning.. this post is long and full of picture collages!!* =)

We took a trip to Michigan for the 4th of July break... we made it a bit longer this time around since it'll probably be our last major vacation before the twins arrive. We started our trip on Friday, June 28th. We split our trip into 2 days... spent the night at a nice hotel near Rochester, New York. As soon as we arrived at my brother's condo on Saturday, we headed out to National Coney Island for dinner =) I have been craving a Hani and Chili Cheese Fries from there for soo long - had to have it, hehe. One of my great friends, Thao (she's also my first friend ever in the US!) joined us for dinner too. During the weekend, we also celebrated my cousin Kat's birthday a little early (her actual bday is today). I took her out for a mani/pedi and we had a nice dinner at home with a few of our friends. It was a fun time. Miles enjoyed hanging out with everyone. During the weekend, we also got to hang out in Royal Oak. Reminded me of so many fun times there back in the day.

Monday, we headed out to Detroit Zoo and met up with Tim's brothers, Joseph & Jalal and their families. We had lunch first before going to the zoo. It was nice to hang out and just chitchat & eat with everyone before doing the whole zoo thing. We brought a wagon to the zoo and it came in pretty handy. It was cute to see all of the combinations of kids in it throughout the zoo. Miles hates being in strollers nowadays, so it was nice to have something for him when he was tired of walking. Even with the rain, I think everyone had a great time. The kids had a lot of fun seeing all of the animals - I think the butterfly garden and the polar bears were the favorites. After the zoo, Miles zonked out in the car before we even got to the restaurant for dinner! He was asleep on me for the beginning of dinner but eventually woke up and got to play with some pizza dough with his cousins! We ate at Tim's cousin's restaurant in Livonia. It was definitely a fun time eating there.

It was nice to spend some time with my brother Herman for a few days. Miles liked playing with him and found it funny to wake him up in the morning. His place is full of random stuff, so Miles explored the condo and had a lot of fun. My brother took us out to dinners which was really nice. One of the nights, we went out to dinner and got to walk around downtown Rochester afterward. I love Michigan summer nights! They are so much longer!!

Wednesday, we headed out to Cass City for the rest of our Michigan vacation. We got to hang out with Jalal, Mary, and Abbie some more. Miles and Abbie had a greatttt time playing together. They played so nicely together - they chitchatted a lot, got to watch fireworks, play at Tetah & Sedo's house, swim and ride bikes, and enjoy the Cass City 4th of July festivities. It was so cute to see them look for each other each morning too. They were truly buddies during this vacation. Miles also got to feed cookies to some horses in Cass City too! Gotta love the country. I'm glad we got to spend some time with family and friends before we "settle" down a little for these angels of ours. I'll post an update of the twins and my pregnancy soon too.

Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Father's Day Papa! We love you and everything you do for us - you're the best!
We had a nice day with Papa today. Miles greeted Papa "Happy Father's Day" first thing in the morning and gave him a Map/Massage Shirt =) He was a fan of that! Papa also got to open a couple more presents. Later on, we had breakfast and got ready to go to a really cool farmer's market. We usually end up just walking around and listening to the live band and eating random stuff (like these amazing sugar raised donuts from a food truck!).

Afterward, we came home for lunch and did some errands that have been on our To Do list for a long time now. This pregnancy has been completely different from my first - been in lots of pain (hips & pelvis) lately and it's been hard to do or be motivated to do anything lately. Thanks for all of your help Papa! You're amazing and we hope you had a great day today.

Miles' 1st Dental Visit!

Miles' had his first dental visit today and he was a champ! I was prepping Miles for the dentist all day today and just telling him that he'll say "ahh" and "cheese!!" to show the dentist his teeth. He was pretty excited about the concept so that was good.

At the office, Miles enjoyed looking at the fish in their fish tank and laughing with the older kids waiting with their mom. Then it was his turn! Once the door opened, he knew it was his turn and walked right on in as if he's been there a million times! The hygienist talked to him while we walked to the room and he was just full of answers! He sat down nicely on the dental chair and again, answered all of the hygienist's questions perfectly. Once she started to work with him, a Bruno Mars song started playing on the radio and Miles goes "BRUNO MARS!!" haha I loved it. He was soo happy about the music.

Afterward, the dentist came in and checked up on his teeth and he did great. They were pretty impressed at how well he acted during his first checkup. They told him he could pick out a couple things in the treasure chest - he mainly had fun looking but didn't really pick up anything. I just took a couple things just in case he mentions it later. So, all in all, great visit!

Twin Girls!!

Today we had our 20 week ultrasound and got to see the babies =) They are looking great and measuring well. Both were pretty active during the appointment - Baby B even went from breech to upside down during the appointment, hehe. We saw both of their mouths move a lot, haha, a couple of talkers! They weigh 12 oz each and their heartbeats are both good.

After the appointment, I gave the genders results to a baker who then made baby cakes for us to cut after dinner! Tim & I were so excited for this.

We had a Google Hangout with friends & family to reveal the results. It was a lot of fun even with the glitches we experienced. No one could hear us! =P And I forgot to make our screen the bigger screen while it was being recorded. Ahhhwell, still memorable =)

Final results.. twin GIRLS! =) I can still honestly say that Miles is my favorite little boy in the world! hehe We are all so excited about the news.

Playing Basketball & Counting in Arabic

Miles and I went to this one play place area in town .. and he absolutely loved it. Leaving was another story =P Anyway, he loved playing with the basketball and shooting around. He made his first shot and I was so surprised! He made several shots and so I finally decided to record him with my phone. =)

This other video is a little older, but I don't think I posted it on here yet, so here it goes! Miles really catches on to Arabic nicely.

Memorial Day Weekend

During the holiday weekend, we went to New York City. My mother-in-law came back from her vacation to Jordan. We picked her up on Saturday in New York City and showed her around the City. Before picking her up, we had brunch with our friends Melissa & Michael and their friends at 44 & X. It was nice to see friends again so soon! =)

We took Tim's mom around around and tried many New York places. NYC is definitely all about the lights, walking, the crowd, and the food. We got a hotel right down the street of Times Square (high five Tim!) and it was easy to walk around to different foods to enjoy for the evening. It's always a neat experience to walk around Times Square at night - see so many people and all of the lights and billboards constantly blinking and grabbing your attention!

On Sunday, we got up and ready for breakfast. During my nauseous stage, I could really just enjoy bagels. Sooo.. because of that, Miles has really gotten to love bagels. We got bagels for breakfast at this one place called Murray's and Miles was a happy boy. New York City is crazy. Every place is busy busy and rushy rush. It's neat to see and experience though. After breakfast, we walked around. The weather was perfect for it. Miles loved seeing everything He loved "downtown!" We decided not to bring a stroller since Miles hates being in it now. We figured it would have been such a waste of space in the trunk of the car anyway. He mainly traveled in an Ergo Baby on Tim's back. He enjoyed it pretty well. He also loved going in a cab and in the subway. At one point, he knew we were close to a subway entrance!

Tim also got us tickets to ride on a boat tour around NYC. Miles loved it and so did my mother-in-law. She got to see the Statue of Liberty! haha She's always wanted to see it.

After the boat tour, we did more walking around and had dinner at Shake Shack in Madison Square Park. Tim and I love their burger and fries. In true NYC fashion, everything (yummy, at least) involves a long line. Miles was asleep on Tim's back most of the time we were waiting, so that was good. He woke up just in time to eat! (Hmmmmm) =)

It was a great and packed NYC weekend. Very quick but we did a lot. I was very exhausted =P Tim's mom stayed with us for a few more days and left out on Wednesday. On Memorial Day, we went to a friend's house and watched their city parade. Miles loved seeing the marching band, firetrucks, and the kids. He still talks about it now.

Miles loved having his Tetah around. He loved playing baseball and soccer with her. He misses her already and thinks she's with Tim when he comes home from work.

1st Baseball Game

Last Friday, we went to a baseball game last minute. I definitely prefer that since I don't really want to sit through all of those innings! Miles fell asleep in the car after eating, so Tim & I enjoyed our dinner in the car and waited a bit until he woke up to go inside. At that point, the game was already in the 5th inning (just the way I like it! haha). Miles was so in awe with seeing so many people. There were many kids so he definitely like that. The moment we saw the field, he was so happy. He loves baseball and knows it instantly on TV or if we drive by a park. He paid attention to the game pretty well. He watched where the ball was all the time. I didn't think we would really stay late enough for the fireworks, but we actually did and it was great. Miles loved that too. He enjoyed naming out each color of the fireworks. It was cute. It was a fun night which made me excited for our summer to come.

18 Weeks Pregnant

Today marks my 18th week of being pregnant. The first trimester and parts of the second have been.. pretty... nauseous. I was constantly feeling off and very tired. Thankfully, I'm feeling a lot better - I still get a bit nauseous sometimes but not daily and constant like before. (Thank God!) My belly has definitely popped out! haha Oh my goodness, I probably am about the size of myself around 24 weeks of my first pregnancy. Tim and I just kind of laugh and shake our heads thinking about later on.. haha oh my. Oh well, that's pregnancy right? =P Looking around at my Baby Sprinkle gifts have been making it all feel so real too. My cousin gave me a twin nursing pillow. It's so big! haha

Lately, my hips and such have been very sore. Pretty painful at nights, especially if I wake up in the middle of the night. I started prenatal yoga recently, so I'm doing some stretches at home a Iot now. I haven't had any distinct cravings. Last pregnancy, I definitely loved spicy foods like Indian and Mexican - spicier the better. This time, I've liked bagels and cucumber water, I guess. I think the nauseousness kind of deterred me from food in general. I just try to eat often so that I have enough energy for the day.

We'll have our 20 week ultrasound in a couple of weeks and we're very excited to find out the genders of the babies. Then we'll have the crazy hard task of thinking of names! We have 2 girl names picked out but no boy names at all.

All in all, the babies have been looking and measuring nicely. I've felt them move and on Mother's Day, Tim felt them too! Feeling them move definitely came earlier than my first pregnancy. I wonder how much I'll feel and see later on!

Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there! I hope you had a great weekend!

Tim and Miles made me breakfast in bed alongside some beautiful flowers. It was so cute to hear Miles waiting for me to come out of the bathroom this morning. To hear him say "Happy Bowtday (his word for birthday) Mama's Day, Mama!" was so stinkin' cute! Melted me. And to open the door to see him standing there with flowers almost as big as him was just too cute.

We enjoyed our breakfast in bed. Miles loved having a picnic on Mama's bed - he was so happy. He also tasted bacon for the first time and yes, he loved it. Ohboy. haha =) After breakfast, we got ready for church. We think Miles is going through a different phase now - he's always been super social in group settings but lately, we've noticed that Miles is getting more shy now. It's pretty cute to see him hide behind our legs and whatnot in group settings. We're so not used to it!! haha He's still so loving and sweet to us, so I'll take it! =)

All in all, today was a great and relaxing day. Thank you to my husband and dear little boy. I'm so lucky.

I wanted to write a little bit about Tim and Miles' bonding time last weekend while I was in Chicago. Miles did look for me throughout the weekend but Tim filled their weekend with a lot of fun and activities. They played at the park on Friday and went on the slide a million times. They went to a Samba Fest together in Hartford. Miles was a cool kid with his sunglasses. He got to see dancers and drummers. He had a great time. Tim also took Miles to a Thomas the Train event, which he absolutely loved. Miles still talks about "Miles and Papa go on the train" all the time! He remembers details like the color of the seat inside the train! Tim and Miles also went to church for Orthodox Easter. They had a little Easter Egg Hunt for the kids and Miles got to bring home some goodies. I'm so glad the guys had a great weekend together.

Mama's Chicago Weekend!

Last week, I went to Chicago for the weekend (Friday to Sunday) to meet up with my friends to celebrate Ria's birthday. This trip was my first time being away from Miles for a significant amount of time. Miles fell asleep on the way to the airport, so it made the goodbye easier.

My flight got so delayed on Friday. I was supposed to be there around 6pm and I didn't arrive until after 10pm! =P Exhausting trip but I was still so excited to see my friends. I stopped by my friend's apartment to drop off my stuff and freshen up and went straight to the club to meet them up. Hah so funny to go to a club pregnant. ;) We had a lot of fun at the club. I had to eat before going to the club since I missed dinner! I had Jimmy John's with my cousin Kat - haven't had that in years! =) It was so fun to be with my friends again - it's always such a good and hilarious time.

Saturday morning, we all had breakfast at a place called Yolk. That's definitely what I miss about Chicago - great restaurants. This weekend was definitely full of 'em! ;) Later in the afternoon, we all went to The Drake Hotel to have afternoon tea to celebrate Ria's birthday. It's always fun to just do something fancy like this. The Drake Hotel is beautiful. I didn't realize that tea was also a Surprise Baby Sprinkle for me! I was so speechless - even got teary. I honestly have the greatest friends ever. I was so surprised and so happy. They had Sprinkles cupcakes (yum!) and beautiful tulips. They also got me presents! (Big ones were delivered to the house! So thoughtful!!) I was just so in awe with everything. I'm so grateful for my friends - they truly are so wonderful. Even though, tea is fancy fancy, we still cracked up so much during tea and had a memorable party.

Some of the group ended up going home on Saturday so it was a quick get-together. Later on Saturday, a group of us walked around downtown Chicago - enjoying the weather. We also tried the restaurant Little Goat for dinner. So delicious. They have Goat Chili Cheese Fries that was just so yummy. I love Chicago's restaurants!

Sunday, I was supposed to leave super early in the morning but Tim changed my flight to the afternoon since I arrived so late on Friday night. My friends had plans to go to the Cubs game that afternoon... Ria and her husband ended up leaving for home earlier than planned and couldn't make it. So, Tim changed my flight back home again to an evening one. So, I got to go to the Cubs game! So random. It was my first time going to Wrigley Field to watch a Cubs game. Pretty cool experience.

This weekend was so so nice. I was so happy with everything about it (except the super delays on Friday). I'm glad I got to go, especially since once these little babies are born - I'll definitely be more homebound. hehe

Tim and Miles also had a great boys weekend. I'll write about that in a little bit.
