Peoria Day Trip

We took my parents to Peoria on Saturday for a little day trip. First, we headed to a winery that Tim and I have heard about - Mackinaw Valley Vineyard. It was a nice little vineyard. Tim and my parents taste-tested a couple of wines and Tim ended up buying a bottle. Not too much to see during this time but it was nice to check out anyway. Tim wants to do the stomping in the Fall =)

After the vineyard, we drove out to Peoria. We just drove around for a bit.. drove through Grand View Drive. A nice neighborhood of big houses with a great view of the river. The drive made me sleepy. Our main to do in Peoria was to watch our friend Herb perform with his band at Bradley University. Before heading to that show, we decided to get some dinner. Tim and I looked up a few places to check out and we found a restaurant called Khoury's Cuisine. hehe We had to try it. =) We parked in its parking lot and noticed that nobody was in there.. a bit hesitant, we still wanted to try it and walked in. The choices looked good - Middle Eastern/Greek food. We ordered some gyros & fries. And once we sat down, people started coming in. In a few minutes, the whole place was packed. We were genuinely surprised how packed it got. The food was good and we were glad we decided to try it out.

After dinner, we headed over to Dingeldine Music Hall at Bradley University for the concert. I guess Herb's band were a part of the Bollywood celebration/talent show. Herb's band the Surf Riders performed at the very end. It was a pretty late night - filled with lots of Indian music and dance performances. My little baby has been to so many concerts while in my tummy =) ... and a variety of types too!! I wonder if he'll appreciate music like his Mama and Papa.. We had a good time at the show and got to hang out with our friend Pam and her sister in the audience. Tim and I are definitely getting a lot of "fun time" in before our little baby comes into the world.
