4th of July Weekend

I hope everyone had a nice 4th of July weekend. We decided to just stay in town on Friday night. And on Saturday, we headed to Naperville and hung out with his family. That was a fun time. We played with Tim's niece and nephews. And we got to watch Gabe hold a lemonade stand.

Watching Gabe sell lemonade was honestly one of the cutest, sweetest things I have ever seen. Gabe was so good! It was so fun to be there - to watch him yell out to people driving by. He did great, he got a good amount of customers too. He really thought out everything for the lemonade stand. He even helped clean up the table. Too cute!

After Naperville, we drove to Chicago to hang out with our friends. Our friend Ria flew in from California for a surprise visit. It was really nice to see her again. She is the engaged friend and her wedding is coming up so quickly! =) Tim and I will be flying out to California for her wedding during Labor Day weekend..we're really excited for it. Saturday night, we all just hung out at our friend Daisy's apartment and then had a late bite at Portillo's.

The next day, we went to Navy Pier and walked around. We rode the Ferris Wheel with our friends Carla and David. That was our first time riding it and it was pretty cute. You get a wonderful view of the city and of the lake. After that, us four just walked around town. There were so many people out and about on Sunday. We also at dinner at a pizza place called Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Co. It was really good actually. Their pizza pot pie was tasty and such a cute presentation. I was delightfully surprised by this restaurant.

Towards the end of the night, Tim and I drove to his brother Kareem's place. We hung out there and watched a fireworks show from their balcony. Tim's nephew Mena was loving it. It was pretty cute to watch his reactions. After watching the fireworks, we decided to drive back home before the main fireworks started. It was pretty neat to drive outside and just watch all of the fireworks throughout the city. Very beautiful. And again, the weather was just perfect. It was nice to spend the weekend with family and friends.
